Message from the Dean

Institute of Technology, Zakura Campus is a constituent Institute of University of Kashmir, a NAAC accredited A+ University. Established in the year 2014 with the approval of University Council and the Govt. of J&K, Institute of Technology achieved prominence among the technical institutions of the UT of J&K in a short duration of less than a decade. The institute offers B.Tech. programme in all the major engineering branches viz. Electronics and Communication, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, and MTech. in Electronics and Communication, Power System and Control (Electrical Engineering) and Design Engineering (Mechanical Engineering). All the courses offered at the Institute are AICTE approved.
With a vision to produce high quality engineering professionals, the institute is constantly striving to achieve its goal of high-quality technical education by self-assessment, accountability and innovative and modern methods of pedagogy. The content and quality of the syllabus/curriculum is constantly evaluated and revised to maintain its technical relevance in tune with the requirements of the industry and society and in accordance with the internationally accepted standards. The institute has been able to create an enabling environment for innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship for the youth of J&K. While many patents have been filed by the faculty and students at the institute in last couple of years, one patent has recently been granted in favour of some students and a faculty of the Institute. By producing technical manpower of international standard and by becoming a hub of scientific and technical innovations and inventions the Institute pledges to contribute its bit in nation building and in transforming agriculture-based economy of the country into technology-based economy.
The students of engineering are being equipped with theoretical and practical know how to provide technology-based solution to the problems and challenges faced by the society and become job providers rather than job seekers. It is in this pursuit that the Techfest “Roshnas-22” is being organised at Institute of Technology jointly by the faculty and students in which students have also been given a role in organizing and managing the Techfest, meeting and negotiating with the sponsors, arranging lecturers by the experts and proving hospitality to the guests and dignitaries. The Techfest will provide students an opportunity to display their innovations, to discussion their ideas with experts, listen to the ideas and experiences of successful people in industry and academia and to prepare themselves for taking challenging roles as competent professionals in their future endeavours in the field of technology and technopreneur ship.
